Terms of Use
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using services offered by Sagewell, a company based in Switzerland that provides legal advisory services for pensioners, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use. These terms govern your use of advice, consultations, written summaries, checklists, correspondence review, and related support that Sagewell may provide. Use of the site or engagement with any service constitutes acceptance of these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law; if you do not accept these terms, you should not use the services or provide any personal information. The content of communications and written materials are intended to clarify options and administrative steps and may support decision-making; they are not a substitute for independent formal representation unless expressly agreed in writing.
User Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete information relevant to matters for which advisory services are requested and update Sagewell promptly if circumstances change.
- Retain original documents and official correspondence; use any templates, summaries, or checklists provided as aids and verify applicability for your canton or specific situation.
- Make independent decisions regarding any submissions to authorities, funds, or third parties and seek formal representation where a legal filing, court appearance, or authoritative advocacy is required.
- Respect appointment schedules, communications protocols, and the scope of agreed services, and acknowledge that additional work may be subject to further agreement and fees.
Service Access
Sagewell aims to make advisory services available through scheduled consultations, written summaries, follow-up communications, and document review as described in the service descriptions. Access to services may be subject to availability, eligibility, and acceptance of a scope of work; Sagewell may decline requests that fall outside the intended focus on pensioners or that entail representation beyond advisory activity. Clients are responsible for providing necessary documentation in a timely manner to enable meaningful advice, and electronic communications may be used for convenience; however, postal or in-person requirements of particular authorities or cantons remain the client’s responsibility to manage where applicable.
Intellectual Property
All materials produced by Sagewell, including written summaries, checklists, memos, templates, and guidance notes, are protected by intellectual property rights and are provided for the exclusive use of the client for the specific matter addressed. Clients may use such materials for personal and administrative purposes relevant to their case; reproduction, distribution, or use of those materials for third parties or commercial purposes is prohibited unless Sagewell provides prior written consent. Where third-party documents or authority templates are included, clients must follow any source terms that accompany those materials.
Fees
Services are provided on the basis of agreed fees for the selected advisory package or consultation arrangement; fees, billing cycles, and any additional charges will be stated in engagement communications and, where applicable, in a written engagement letter. Payment terms, methods, and any consequences of late or non-payment will be specified at engagement and must be followed by the client. Fees quoted or published are indicative of the scope described and may be subject to change with notice; when additional work is requested beyond the agreed scope, parties will agree any further fees in advance of performing that work.
Limitation of Liability
Sagewell provides advisory services intended to assist pensioners in understanding administrative options and preparing communications; advice and materials are prepared on the basis of information supplied by the client and general knowledge of applicable processes. To the extent permitted by law, Sagewell’s liability for any act, omission, or advice is limited to direct losses reasonably foreseeable at the time of engagement and shall not extend to indirect, consequential, or punitive losses. The client accepts that advisory materials and guidance may not be exhaustive, may not reflect all canton-specific requirements, and do not substitute for formal legal representation unless expressly agreed.
Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement by providing notice in writing; termination will take effect as specified in the engagement communications or, if not specified, on reasonable notice. Upon termination, outstanding fees for work performed up to the termination date remain payable and Sagewell may deliver any completed materials to the client. Termination does not affect provisions that by their nature are intended to survive, including intellectual property limitations, liability caps, and governing law clauses.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use and any disputes arising from services provided by Sagewell are governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Parties submit to the competent courts of Switzerland for disputes that cannot be resolved by agreement or alternative dispute resolution. Where specific procedures or time limits apply under Swiss law or canton-level regulations, clients remain responsible for observing those procedures and timeframes.
Changes to Terms
Sagewell may revise these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect operational or legal developments; material changes will be communicated to clients by email or through the site where practicable. Continued use of services after notice of revisions constitutes acceptance of the revised terms, and clients who do not accept changes should discontinue use and notify Sagewell to close or amend any active engagement.

Terms of Return
Eligibility
Eligibility for a return or refund is limited to agreements and booked advisory sessions provided directly by Sagewell where the client has followed the intake requirements and supplied requested documentation within agreed timeframes; this policy does not apply to general queries or initial informal consultations that were not contracted as part of a paid service. Requests must be submitted by the individual who contracted the service or by a legally authorised representative, and eligibility will be assessed on the basis of the original service agreement, the timing of the request relative to delivery, and whether any bespoke deliverables have already been issued.
Return Window
A request for return or refund must be made in writing to legal@sagewellbest.com within fourteen (14) calendar days of the date of the first charged consultation or delivery of any written deliverable; requests submitted after fourteen days will be considered only under exceptional circumstances and may require additional documentation. Time limits for staged or multi-session packages are measured from the date of the first session, and partial refunds for unused sessions are treated according to the terms set out in the original engagement confirmation.
Item Condition Requirements
Where physical documentation or materials have been supplied as part of an engagement, returns are accepted only if those materials are returned in substantially the same condition as delivered, accompanied by all pages, inserts and any digital access credentials that were provided; missing or altered materials may affect the amount refundable and may lead to a partial reduction to reflect reasonable value already provided.
Return Process
To initiate a return or refund request, clients must notify Sagewell in writing to legal@sagewellbest.com, provide the original proof of purchase, and describe the reason for the request with supporting documentation where applicable; the following steps outline typical client responsibilities and the sequence of actions that follow a request.
- Submit a written request with the engagement reference and date of service.
- Provide copies of any deliverables, receipts, and communications relevant to the request.
- Follow any instructions provided by Sagewell for returning physical materials or revoking digital access where applicable.
- Cooperate with a reasonable verification process to allow assessment of the request.
Refunds
Refunds, when approved, will be processed using the original payment method where practicable and may take up to thirty (30) days from the date of approval to appear in the account; any administrative delays resulting from third-party payment processors are outside of Sagewell’s direct control. Approved amounts will be adjusted to reflect any portion of services already rendered or non-returnable deliverables, and the client will receive a written statement explaining any deductions made from the refunded amount.
Transactions
Transactions of booked time or transfers between service packages are handled on a case-by-case basis and require mutual written agreement; where an transaction is agreed, any price differential will be invoiced or refunded as applicable and scheduled in a manner that respects the availability of both parties.
Non-Returnable Items
- Completed bespoke documents provided as a result of substantive advisory work once delivered.
- Time or sessions that have been fully delivered and consumed.
- Materials requested after an engagement that reproduce confidential client files.
Shipping & Return Costs
Unless otherwise stated in the engagement terms, clients are responsible for costs associated with returning physical materials to Sagewell; where Sagewell requests return shipping for items that were supplied in error, return postage will be reimbursed according to the documented postage cost submitted with the return.
Damaged or Defective Items
If deliverables are received in a damaged or materially defective state, please notify Sagewell immediately and provide photographic or other evidence as requested; Sagewell will assess the claim and may offer a remedial action, replacement deliverable or refund depending on the circumstances, subject to verification and the original engagement terms.
Proof of Purchase
- Required information
- Provide the engagement reference, date of service, the client name, and a copy of any receipt or invoice issued by Sagewell.
- Electronic records
- Electronic confirmations and email receipts sent by Sagewell are accepted as valid proof of purchase for the purposes of processing a request.
Restocking Fees
- Where Sagewell incurs administrative expense for processing a return after materials have been prepared, a reasonable administrative charge may be deducted from any refund.
International Returns
- Clients outside Switzerland are responsible for export or import formalities and any duties or taxes that may apply to returned physical items; such costs are not refundable by Sagewell under this policy.
Abuse & Fraud Prevention
Sagewell reserves the right to refuse or limit refunds where there is reasonable evidence of misuse, fraudulent activity, duplicate bookings, or repeated requests that are inconsistent with the terms of this policy; such determinations will be made with regard to the contractual record and communications between the parties.
Changes to Policy
- Sagewell may amend these Terms of Return from time to time; material changes will be communicated on the website and, where applicable, to clients in active engagements.
